Mid-Autumn Is Drawing Near….

Childhood memories suddenly come flooding back, slipping into every feeling, gentle and tender…

It is not by chance that we keep tirelessly cutting and filing every single can, tearing off each thin strip until our hands are covered in cuts and aching….!
We do it because we have discovered that candlelight, together with the metallic shine of the cans, creates a beauty that is wonderfully sparkling and magical. Paper or battery-powered lanterns can never have that kind of beauty.
Over the past month or so, many Y Tam lanterns have reached the children. We are very happy, because we know that when they grow up, their childhood memories will include the very first lantern made from a can, given to them by the Y Tam volunteers….

P.S.: Tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday, if you are free, please come over to the Y Tam house to make lanterns for our program Journey to the Border Region of Bù Gia Mập, Bình Phước.
