Things to Note for the Y Tam Rural Bridge-Building Trip to Phụng Hiệp, Hậu Giang

Dear friends!

In just a few days we will set off on our trip to Phụng Hiệp – Hậu Giang to help the local people build a bridge.

To be better prepared for the trip, please take a few minutes to read through the following notes.

II / SCHEDULE:
– 8:30 p.m. on Friday 18/12: everyone gathers at the Y Tam house, No. X1, CMT8 apartment complex, Thép Mới Street (near the Hoàng Hoa Thám - Trường Chinh intersection), Ward 12, Tân Bình District, Ho Chi Minh City. Please arrive on time so we can sort out luggage and seating!!

– Everyone can park their motorbikes at the parking lot next to the Y Tam house.

– 9:00 p.m.: the coach departs from Saigon for the river lands of the Mekong Delta!!
– Around 3 a.m. on Saturday 19/12: the coach arrives in Phụng Hiệp, Hậu Giang. Here you will have 3 hours to rest, have breakfast and freshen up.
– 6 a.m. on 19/12: work officially begins.

– 3 p.m. on Sunday 20/12: board the coach back to Saigon

Expected arrival in Saigon at 7 p.m.!

III / THINGS TO BRING:

Essential personal items:
– 1 blanket + pillow
– 1 set of long-sleeved clothes to sleep in,
– Enough clothes for 2 days, long-sleeved shirts. – Slippers are recommended
– Mosquito repellent (especially needed, as there are a lot of mosquitoes)
– Face towel + toothbrush + toothpaste + soap + face mask
– A wide-brimmed cloth hat
– Personal ID, national ID card

IV / OTHER NOTES

– In Hậu Giang we will travel by boat and canoe, so accidents can easily happen; please be extremely careful.

– Never leave the group to go off alone for any reason; if you want to do that, save it for another time. Any kind of risk may arise if you leave the group on your own without telling anyone.

These are the most basic notes, so please try to keep them firmly in mind. The team leader will tell you more about task assignments and the detailed program once we are on the coach.
