Hi Y Tam!
It's been ages since anything touched my feelings, but seeing this project, it all came pouring out, so bear with me and let me ramble a little
-I hate rain…!!!
That's something I just can't let go of.
Some people ask me how I could possibly hate it: rain is lovely, it's romantic, blah… blah…
Well, romantic maybe, but for me it's a haunting memory.
Back then, every time it rained, sure enough, the water rose right up to our “belly buttons”… My house was near the river, so every rain flooded us just so we could “cool off” :(((
On top of that, there was the bridge people called the “Wooden Bridge”, simply because it was made of logs pieced together, that's all.
After every rain, the whole village, the whole neighborhood would trudge out together to fish the logs out of the water and piece the bridge back together. It looked as lively as a festival, but nobody saw the worry that came after: a whole harvest season was waiting, and every rain cut everything off because there was no way to cross the river.
That's why I always dreamed of becoming a civil engineer one day, traveling to every corner of the country to “connect the two banks” with solid bridges. Ironically, I can't even solve 1+1=2 properly, so that dream had to quietly “settle down”.
I promised myself that wherever there is a bridge or road project, I have to go, and make that longing come true.
On that note, thank you, sis, my sweet girly sis Nguyệt Đình Khôi, for doing everything you could to make room for an unfinished dream..
Wishing the project every success, and lots of joy for the people there.
PS: Anyone passing by, please drop a heart for sis Nguyệt for me… my hearts alone surely won't be enough!!!
Nguyễn Ngọc
