Following the call of our hearts, we set off carrying our enthusiasm and the love of our donors and of ourselves… Did you know, for two days in Tân Hưng, Bình Phước, with no electricity, no running water, no wifi and no phone signal, we seemed completely cut off from the outside world. Life was strangely peaceful. Yet what we did there stirred up the whole mountain area that had been so quiet for so many years.
We wrapped more than 150 bánh tét (sticky rice cakes) with hard work and happiness. There were 70 gift packages to help villagers in hardship welcome Tết (Lunar New Year), and 180 packages of school supplies for the children starting the second semester. Above all, there was a festival full of spring colors and full of happiness, something the villagers and children here had never had before.
The young volunteers carefully wrapped bánh tét and enjoyed the spring festival with the children and villagers here
Y Tam got up at 4 a.m. to prepare the spring festival for the children
Lucky bracelets were tied on the children's wrists, wishing good things for them
The calligraphy booth drew many children asking for calligraphy
Familiar games gave the children a day of pure fun
The fried fish ball booth kept selling out
The Tết sweets booth drew many villagers, aunts and uncles to join in
The bánh canh noodle soup must have been really tasty to get smiles that big…

Heartfelt words from team leader Nguyệt Đình Khôi
Villagers in Bình Phước happily picking out clothes sent up to them
Behind the colorful spring festival was the indispensable contribution of our volunteers
“We truly admire you. We have never seen a spring festival as lovely as this. You knew how to reuse things that seemed like rubbish to decorate the festival, everything was handmade, and even we who live here have never been able to give the villagers such a meaningful spring festival…” – Ms. Thảo, Secretary of the commune Youth Union, shared about Y Tam.

Meaningful gifts handed directly to villagers at Suối Nhung
Y Tam is deeply grateful to our donors near and far who joined hands and contributed funds for the spring festival and gifts for the villagers and children. Thank you to the local Youth Union for so enthusiastically helping us with logistics in difficult, under-resourced conditions. In particular, Y Tam warmly thanks the 30 volunteers who gave their effort and the fire of their love, burning bright with Y Tam for the spring festival.
As the New Year arrives at our doorstep, Y Tam wishes you all a joyful, brilliant and happy spring. And forever: – Deep Y Tam red – Deep red of love
Sincerely!
