And so, another moon season of the 8th lunar month has passed, but beautiful memories remain etched in the hearts of all of us, the children and the Y Tam volunteers.
Because we had a truly radiant, beautiful moon season: the moment we lit our sparkling lanterns in the dark night, with the schoolyard still soaked from the afternoon rain. We gathered around the campfire, warm and happy.
Over 2 days, 10/9 and 1/10, Y Tam successfully held the Lantern Festival program, the opening event of the Y Tam Education Support project 2017.
Together, we accomplished our mission:
– Awarded scholarship funds to the 11 students we sponsor
– Gave 220 gift packages of school supplies to the children at Đồng Tiến B Primary School
– Gave rice to 30 ethnic minority households in especially difficult circumstances
– Held a moonlit night and Mid-Autumn festival for more than 200 ethnic minority children.
Y Tam holds a full-moon celebration for the children in Đồng Tiến
Awarding scholarships to 11 students in difficult circumstances sponsored by Y Tam

The festival was joyful and exciting, with the children taking part enthusiastically
More than 200 students came, and every one of them was thrilled to join the games
The game booths were packed with children
Children in Đồng Tiến put on performances
The Y Tam volunteers also entertained the children with their own “homegrown” acts

Though the items were secondhand, the villagers seemed to treasure them
playing together and receiving gifts
Y Tam gave 30 gift packages to households in hardship here
Y Tam sincerely thanks the donors who provided the funding for Y Tam to carry out the program. Thank you to the youth union members and the teachers of Đồng Tiến commune. And a special thank-you to the 30 Y Tam members and volunteers who joined Y Tam and gave their time and energy to this program
Y Tam wishes you all good health and happiness!
