More Than a Gift

It was pitch dark. As we were busily preparing for the Highland Spring Festival, we suddenly saw a little girl holding her younger sister tightly in her arms, a flashlight strapped to her head, her face full of excitement and anticipation. It was only 4 a.m.…

We went over and asked her why she had come so early, and she smiled shyly: “I couldn't sleep, so I asked my mom if I could come out here”

Hearing her say that touched our hearts! More than anyone, we understood how the children felt at that moment. For a city child, perhaps, a festival with colorful lights, game stalls and gifts… is nothing unusual. But for these children, growing up in a remote area where there is “never enough food to eat or clothes to wear,” it is an unimaginable luxury, worth more than any ordinary gift, which they have never had. That is why the Y Tam festival suddenly became so meaningful, almost sacred, filling the children with excitement and a longing to enjoy it, even if just once.

In just 2 weeks, the Đạ Nhar – Children Sing Together program will take place in Đạ Tẻh – Lâm Đồng. Y Tam promises a memorable festival with the most meaningful messages for the children here, giving them stronger support on their road to school
