Đạ Nhar – Children Sing Together 1/6/2017

We had a day of new experiences

A truly exciting, lively festival day

A day spent at one with nature, among the trees and grass.

A day of returning to the wild, carefree memories of childhood through every folk game, singing and dancing happily with the children….

A beautiful day in Đạ Nhar, where we successfully held the CHILDREN IN HARMONY program, to create lasting, beautiful memories of this year's International Children's Day on 1/6.

In just 2 hours, the whole place was filled with festive colors and the fragrant aroma of bánh canh noodle soup, with eye-catching fruit skewers and jelly, and sweet, refreshing aloe vera drinks with rock sugar, all made by Y Tam's amateur cooks for our special guests: the children of Đạ Nhar village.

We wove in a message about the importance of learning, encouraging the children to go to school, through really fun games like “The Magic Hat”, answering questions about the benefits of going to school; “Clever Hands”, showing the children how to make paper clocks, paper airplanes and pinwheels…; and games like can toss, ball toss and darts… to get them moving and having fun…

More than 200 bowls of bánh canh served on the spot, 120 gifts of school supplies, and nearly 300 gifts of sweets, milk, fruit, instant noodles, stuffed animals and new clothes… were given to the children here. We also gave all the clothes and shoes sent in by donors to the children's parents.

The program came to a close with boundless happiness and smiles from the children, from the villagers of Đạ Nhar, and from all of us, the members and volunteers of Y Tam.

For this brilliant success, we sincerely thank:

– Our donors and sponsors in Vietnam and abroad, who supported us with funds, gifts, kindness and encouragement.
– The Hiểu Và Thương charity group, together with the youth union members and local officials, who helped us so enthusiastically with the organizing.
– The villagers of Đạ Nhar and the children, who welcomed and helped us with such love during our 2 days there
– And above all, our heartfelt gratitude to the 37 Y Tam members and volunteers who joined us and gave 2 days of volunteer effort to make the program a success.
We wish you all good health, and we hope to keep receiving your kindness and support on our next volunteer journeys.
