Summer is at the door; the flame trees are blooming in fiery red clusters, and cicadas are buzzing loudly everywhere. Students are going through their end-of-term exams, eagerly getting ready for the end of the school year.
Summer is the time when children get to play to their hearts' content, after 9 months of hard work at their school desks…I/
SURVEY RESULTS
Summer is also the season when Y Tam volunteers make field trips to primary schools in mountainous ethnic minority areas. This year, Y Tam chose Phú Nghĩa commune, Bù Gia Mập district, Bình Phước for its survey. During the field survey, we found that 100% of the primary schools here have no play area for children. The children mostly just play simple, crude homemade games at home.

Creating play areas for children is a real need, especially this summer. Since a play area can be built from used materials, costs little, is easy to make and protects the environment…, Y Tam is piloting the first model at the satellite site of Hoàng Diệu School in Phú Nghĩa commune, Bù Gia Mập, Bình Phước.

We hope this will become a model that can be applied and replicated at nearby school sites, giving children in remote areas more chances to play.
In addition, since June is the Month of Action for Children, Y Tam will also organize a play day for more than 200 children at the school site and help repair 2 run-down primary schools.
These are the activities that will be carried out in the Blazing Summer 2018 program on 16-17/6/2018
