Program: Y Tam Kitchen: Sharing Rice, Round 3

“Kindness is not just an action. It is an attitude, an expression, a look, a touch. It is anything that warms another person's heart.”

That is exactly why Y Tam Kitchen is not just about handing lunches to the poor and homeless and calling the job done. Alongside each meal comes a whole heart, sincerity and compassion from Y Tam's amateur cooks, and from the volunteers themselves who place those meals directly into the hands of people less fortunate.

That is also what drives us to hold the Y Tam Kitchen program on the Sunday of the 2nd and 4th weeks of every month. This coming Sunday, 27/12/2015, right on schedule, Y Tam Kitchen will once again prepare 200 meals made with love to carry on its mission.

200 meals handed out is not a huge number, but behind them is the loving heart of Y Tam beating as one, flowing in a single stream back to the source of love and affection.

Alongside this, Sharing Rice continues its role of bringing love together and connecting heart to heart. Through the support of kind-hearted people, every meal given out brings back a little in return as a token of shared kindness.

I/ Schedule:

1/ Time:

– 4-6 a.m. on Sunday 27/12/2015: Y Tam members will go to the wholesale market themselves to buy ingredients for the kitchen:

+ 6-8 a.m.: prepare the ingredients and get the kitchen equipment ready.

+ 8-10 a.m.: cook the food

+ 10 a.m.: pack the meals into boxes.

+ 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.: the meals will be taken to the distribution points.

II/ Joining the program:

Y Tam always welcomes the volunteer spirit of our members and volunteers. Besides joining hands to share with the poor, this is also a chance for you to make new friends :)) and to get to know and learn from one another.
