With the weather turning to spring and our spirits high, we wanted to do something fresh for the land we were setting foot in….

Choosing the primary school in Phi Lơ Te village as our main site, as part of the wider Highland Spring Festival 2018 program, we amateur painters gallantly stepped in to “magically transform” the old, run-down, moldy school into a new, spacious and clean one

Though none of us were skilled painters, we magically turned the old school into a new one, more spacious and cleaner

In addition, thanks to help from the children's parents and teachers, we also finished 2 preschool sites in the village, something none of us had expected.

“On this trip, I learned how to paint; it's not as hard as I thought..” – a member of the painting team shared.

Indeed, besides our mission of giving the children a new school, we also wanted this to be a chance for our volunteers to gain experience and learn skills that will surely be useful to them later on.

We are deeply grateful to our sponsor, the ECONO paint company, which donated all the wall paint for the 3 school sites. Thank you to the volunteers who gave their time and effort alongside us, and thank you to our donors near and far…

For the New Year, Y Tam wishes you all good health, peace and prosperity
