Dear donors and friends!

The Solar Lights for Villages project, carried out in the 2 villages of Yang Hăn and Ea Hăn, Cư Drăm commune, Krong Bông, Đăk Lăk, has been a complete success!

This success was made possible by the contributions, support and shared effort of all our donors, volunteers, local leaders and the people of the 2 villages. Y Tam would like to borrow the words of thanks from Mr. Hùng, Chairman of Cư Drăm commune:

“Yang Hăn and Ea Hăn are 02 hamlets of Cư Drăm commune, 10km from the commune center, where more than 90% of the population are Hmông ethnic minority people who migrated from the northern provinces. This is one of the most remote and disadvantaged areas of Cư Drăm commune, so it has not yet been possible to invest in street lighting along the roads between hamlets and communes. In the past, there were many traffic collisions at night because of the lack of street lights, and social problems such as theft also happened often… We were truly fortunate to receive support from the Y Tam charity organization through the “Lighting Up Country Roads” project in the 02 hamlets, with a total budget of 187,000,000 VND. Thanks to it, order and security here have gradually improved. People can work and farm with peace of mind, leaving early and coming home late without collisions. With street lights, villagers also have an easier time traveling and transporting goods at night, and children can play more freely….

On behalf of the Party Committee, the Commune People's Committee and all the people of the two hamlets of Yang Hăn and Ea Hăn, Cư Drăm commune, we express our deep gratitude to the Y Tam charity organization; to Ms. Nguyệt, its chair and founder; and to the entire team of volunteers who came in person and stood with the people of the 02 hamlets until the project was completed. We hope this project will continue to be replicated in localities across the country, helping to transform the face of the countryside everywhere.”

– The Director and staff of Vũ Đức Solar Company, who did not hesitate to travel more than a thousand kilometers (from Hà Tĩnh to Krong Bông) to give Y Tam technical support in installing 99 solar light sets in the 2 villages.

– The Y Tam volunteers who made time to come up and support the solar lighting project and help the villagers repair the bridge.

– Special thanks to all the people of the 2 villages of Yang Hăn and Ea Hăn: from the children who lent their small hands (gathering stones…), the women who helped cook for the volunteers, the young men, to the older men… who all worked together with one heart, digging holes, carrying lights and setting light poles in sun and rain alike, to quickly complete 99 solar light poles in the 2 villages!
